Juba Nour Sensei, Director and Chief Instructor of Baja Aikido, studied the art as an Uchi-deshi of Master K. Chiba, 8th Dan, in 1983. After four years of apprenticeship with Master K. Chiba, Juba Sensei apprenticed in Tokyo, Japan under the guidance of late Master K. Ueshiba.

Juba Sensei currently holds the rank of Shihan and he has been teaching Aikido for more than 20 years. His first school was established in New Haven, Connecticut (Connecticut Aikikai), now run by Mike Sidebottom Sensei, 4th Dan. Juba Sensei has also taught in Europe and in various seminars. Juba Sensei established Aikido of Manhattan in 1995 and Baja Aikido in 2009.
